About the Group

The Curtin Centre for Clinical Research and Education (CCRE) was established in 2017 and is based within the School of Population Health in the Faculty of Health Science at Curtin University.

CCRE Mission

To improve health outcomes at the individual, community and population level through the generation of evidence based on the conduct of world class clinical research and education.

CCRE aims to achieve this mission through the establishment of research and education platforms in clinical trials, registries and clinical informatics. Importantly, it links together existing research strengths within the University to the Curtin Health Analytics Hub including;

• The Centre for Population Health Data Linkage under the leadership of Dr Jenni Harrison

• The Health Economics and Health Policy Unit under the leadership of Professor Suzanne Robinson.

• The NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Cardiovascular Outcomes Improvement under the leadership of Professor Christopher Reid

The CCRE undertakes the spectrum of human research, from clinical laboratory studies through to large clinical registries and clinical trials as well as health services research and health economics through our linkages. The Curtin CCRE has also established national collaborations with the Monash Centre of Cardiovascular Research and Education in Therapeutics in Melbourne and the George Institute for Global Health in Sydney.

The focus of the CCRE is on cardiovascular diseases, but we also have an interest in other areas, including nutrition, musculoskeletal disease, oncology and ageing. Our work is support by two facilities we operate; the Clinical Trials Centre and the Healthy Living Clinic.
